History and Overview of the Camera : The Yashica Auto Focus is an early example of autofocus cameras, appearing shortly after the Konica C35 AF. Yashica quickly responded to this innovation by presenting this camera at Photokina 1978.
The Yashica Auto Focus shares similarities with its competitors of the time. It is equipped with a Yashica 38/2.8 lens which delivers sharp and clear results. Exposure is fully automatic and cannot be disengaged, simplifying shooting.
Next to the lens is a “Focus Lock” push button. This feature was an innovation at the time, allowing focus to be locked at a precise distance by pressing the button. This may seem outdated compared to modern autofocus systems, but at the time it was a significant step forward. However, it should be noted that you had to trigger to reset the focus, which could present challenges.
This device uses two 1.5 Volt LR6 batteries to power its features.
