History and Presentation of the Device:
The Canon Prima BF-80 is a camera from the Prima family which is distinguished by its mascot “Footix”, famous during the Football World Cup in France, which France has won on July 12, 1998. Although this device may seem ordinary, it has a special place in history as a witness to this momentous event.
This device is equipped with an oversized viewfinder for a comfortable shooting experience. Its 32 mm “fix focus” lens with an aperture of 6.7 allows sharp shots in a range of 1.5 m to infinity. It has a device to minimize the red-eye effect, provided that the subject looks at the camera just before capture.
This basic model works exclusively with color negative films. There is a version of the device with the “date” function which allows you to write the current date in orange on photos, and it even works for dates other than July 12.
What's more, it's possible that this camera was even used to take a photo of Zinédine Zidane!
