The Minolta 5000 AF 📷, a 35mm SLR, embodies Minolta's move into the era of consumer autofocus in photography. In 1985, Minolta introduced the 7000 AF, the first ever 24x36 autofocus SLR camera with an integrated distance sensor and focus motor. This revolutionary advance was followed by the 9000 AF for experts and professionals, and the 5000 AF for the general public.
The Minolta 5000 AF, as you hold it now, is aimed primarily at the general public. Its housing, mainly made of polymers, is designed to be lightweight and easy to use. It runs on 4 AAA batteries, making it a convenient choice for photography enthusiasts. However, unlike its more advanced counterparts, the 5000 AF does not offer "priority mode" or "results programs". You can use it in fully automatic mode or in fully manual mode, although its ergonomics in the latter case are not the most sophisticated.
You have the possibility to adapt a date back, an electronic soft trigger and a power handle using AA batteries, thus improving the autonomy of the device and its handling.
The camera is equipped with the versatile Minolta 28-80mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens, ideal for a variety of shooting situations.
