The Canon Prima AF-8 , also known as the Sure Shot Owl in the United States, is a compact camera that was released in 1998. It is the cousin of the Prima BF8, but is distinguished by its autofocus. The name "AF" is short for Autofocus, although this feature is already clearly indicated in red on the front of the camera.

The Prima AF-8 is designed to provide a fast and easy photography experience. It features precise autofocus, an extra-large viewfinder, and a fixed-focus lens. The camera is motorized for easy film transport, and its sensitivity is automatically adjusted thanks to DX coding recognition.

A unique feature of this camera is a gear wheel located in an unconventional location. It controls various functions, including turning the camera off completely, switching to "full auto" mode, managing the flash, disabling the flash, or activating the self-timer.
