Minolta 404si Dynax (with 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Macro lens)
The Minolta 404si Dynax (known as the Maxxum STsi in the US or Alpha Sweet S in Japan) is a late-era 35mm autofocus film SLR camera, released in the late 1990s. A true concentration of mature technology, it combines exceptional compactness and lightweight design with full creative control, making it one of the most enjoyable SLRs for beginners or those looking to advance in film photography.

Main features 📸
🔍 Camera type: 35mm autofocus film SLR (Minolta AF mount / A-mount, compatible with the Minolta and Sony Alpha lens ecosystem)
🎞️ Film format: 35mm with fully automatic loading, advancing, and rewinding
🔭 Included lens: Minolta AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom with built-in macro function
🎯 Focus: Fast and responsive autofocus system with cross-type sensor
⚙️ Exposure: Full creative modes via the PSAM dial (Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual), thematic scene modes (Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Sport, Night), 8-segment matrix metering, and shutter speeds from 30s to 1/2000s (plus Bulb mode)
⚡ Built-in flash: Built-in pop-up flash for low-light shooting
🧱 Materials/Design: Ultra-lightweight polycarbonate body (approx. 350g body only) with an ergonomic sculpted grip for an excellent hold
🔋 Power: 2 CR2 lithium batteries

A technical and functional body
The Minolta 404si Dynax stands out from overly simplistic entry-level SLRs by offering direct access to creativity thanks to its full PSAM dial. Coupled with a versatile 28-80mm zoom lens featuring a macro function and the legendary A-mount (later shared by Sony digital SLRs), it guarantees infinite expandability at a low cost. Its featherweight of approximately 350g and automatic loading make it a formidably efficient and portable tool.

Why choose the Minolta 404si Dynax? ✔️
It is the ideal choice for those looking for a lightweight, full-featured film SLR that comes with a macro zoom and offers the freedom of manual settings (PSAM). This unit has been fully checked, cleaned, and serviced in our workshop to ensure it is in perfect working order.

Ideal for...
Beginners and enthusiasts wishing to learn true SLR photography with full control over aperture and shutter speed (A, S, M modes).
Travel and everyday photography thanks to its featherweight and surprising compactness for an SLR.
Those who want to take advantage of a wide selection of affordable lenses thanks to the compatibility of the Minolta AF / Sony A mount.

In summary
The Minolta 404si Dynax is a high-performance, lightweight, and creative 35mm film SLR, serviced by BromureFilm and ready to use.

Why shoot film?

That's true... Why would anyone want to shoot film in the digital age?

Film photography offers a unique and timeless aesthetic that digital cannot replicate. Film grain, colors, and contrasts create a depth and texture that is unique to film photography.

Film photography allows you to physically hold your photos and negatives, providing a more tactile and memorable experience. Each photo becomes a unique object that you can keep and cherish.

Shooting on film encourages you to think and plan each shot carefully. This develops your photography skills and teaches you to be more attentive to detail.

Using a film camera connects you to a long tradition of photography. You are using a technology that has captured historic moments and has been practiced by generations of photographers before you.

With film, you focus on the moment without being distracted by the screen and digital settings. This allows you to better appreciate and capture the essence of each moment.
