Released in late 2003 , the Canon Prima Super 105u (also known as the Sure Shot 105u in the US and the Autoboy 105u in Japan) was one of the last film compacts produced by Canon , just before the switch to digital. It offers a successful mix of automatic features, shooting aids and a stylish, lightweight design , with a distinctive thin sea green metallic band.

🔧 Technical details

The 38–105mm lens allows you to switch effortlessly from wide-angle to close-up portraits . It is suitable for most situations: landscapes, portraits, city scenes or everyday moments. In macro mode, the focus goes down to 45 cm , ideal for simple close-ups.

The autofocus works with a 3-zone passive system, capable of automatically detecting the subject. You can also switch to a central AF point if you want more control.

The real-image viewfinder covers approximately 84% of the frame, with AF, framing, and macro markings. A green LED indicates focus and flash status.

The exposure system is automatic , with DX recognition of ISO 25 to 3200 films, and the possibility of manually correcting the exposure (useful in backlighting or for creative effects).
